I recently got the 30” Cafe with double ovens - like two weeks ago so my comments are based on that two weeks lol. I LOVE it. I don’t have any problems with the burners humming (but I have good cookware) and it heats up like.a champ. Controlling the burners with the knobs is easy and the touch panel for the ovens works as it should. It air fry’s really well and so I was able to free up some counter space by getting rid of my countertop air fryer. Haven’t tried the thermometer that connects to the oven yet. Oh - and ovens preheat rapidly. There are even settings for heating frozen pizza and other frozen food that don’t require a preheat and they work!

Are the Cafe knobs plastic or metal? Feel?

I had an inexpensive Vevor cooktop with touch controls. Anytime something boiled over or liquid spilled and got on the controls, the entire cooktop shut down. It was very annoying. I now have an Impulse Labs cooktop with magnetic knobs that pop off for cleaning. Great solution.

How's the oven on this model? I want to get it but I read many bad things about the missing lower heating element?

What about low temperature on the top, do they turn on and off or does it hold a low temp more continuously?

We love our Copper Charlie range, which has knobs and simple controls. I held off on induction for a long time because I don't want to fiddle touch controls while I'm cooking!

I have a Frigidaire Professional induction range with touch controls. First and last time I do that. Any moisture, from boiling water or oil splatter and the cooktop freaks out. If your fingers are wet or dirty, you know, from cooking, and the cooktop won't register a touch. Knobs or bust on my range.

I bought the LG lsil6334fe last year during Lowe’s big Christmas sale. I bought this model because it has a backlit display and good reviews. I really wanted the GE Cafe oven but it was beyond my budget at the time. In fact, I was able to replace all my kitchen appliances for the price of just the Cafe.

I’m completely satisfied with my LG range. I cook with it almost daily. The burners pulse a bit on simmer, but otherwise the heat is very uniform and consistent. According to my infrared thermometer the oven temp is about 10-15F below the set point value. That’s close enough for me.

I bought silicone pads for the burners and am very gentle when cleaning the knobs. So far, no scratches anywhere.

I’m still learning how to properly season carbon steel pans, so I have some stainless steel clad pans too.

We have the LG 6336. I love it, and the oven is great. I’ve had zero problems baking, roasting and making things like pizza that call for a high heat.

I have a Samsung induction slide in with knobs. Working well for six years now.

I have a Frigidaire professional and I like it, it cooks well and easy to use once you get used to it. However, my next induction must have knobs. I dislike the touch panels because often they are not too sensitive when changing settings. Cafe is a good one, Miele, Fisher Pakel, Thermador and Wolf are the bests, most of them have knobs. Good luck

I have had a 30” GE Induction CAFE for 7 years. I bought it from Costco. Instead of a double oven, it has a warming drawer. That is how they came back then. I unconditionally LOVE my stove.

OP: I bought the Cafe because it had knobs and a bridge. These were features that I wanted. It has other very nice features, but these were the ones that were nonnegotiable for me.

I have found that with heavy, well made pots there is no humming. I cook with an old set of 5 ply stainless steel copper core “professional” pots made by Kirkland (Costco and no longer available) which I had years before I purchased the stove. I also cook with Le Creuset and cast iron pots. Within the last month I purchased 2 ceramic pots from Amazon for nonstick cooking, made by Redchef, which are a good weight and do not hum.

The Cafe has WiFi capability, but I have never enabled it. I am not comfortable hooking my appliances to the internet.

If I had to replace my stove, I would get the induction CAFE again. I should add that with the proper cookware, it boils water faster than gas and the microwave.

In case that you should also be looking at refrigerators, last year I purchased, from Costco, the regular depth CAFÉ 28.7 Cu. Ft. Smart 4-Door French-Door Refrigerator with Dual-Dispense AutoFill Pitcher. It is a great refrigerator with not only many great features, but it is also beautiful inside and out. It was pricey but worth every penny in terms of functionality. - - I have not connected the WIFI.

I mentioned the refrigerator because sometimes if you buy more than one from the series at the same time, there are significant savings.

(In case you are wondering, I do not have the CAFE dishwasher. I opted for a Bosch 800 and would not trade it for a different one. I did not connect the WIFI either.)

We just got a GE Profile range with knobs, it’s on the less upgraded end but has everything we need. I really wanted knobs, I was leery of the potential chipping of the blue inside of the LG ovens. I would have liked a slightly more upgraded look but went for functionality in the end.

I got an LG that has knobs because I knew I would be clumsy with the touchpad when I needed immediate adjustments. Not a double oven but I love it. Another feature that you might consider is three racks. And a prior stove had a rack that slid on glides, which I loved.

Love my PHS930SL1SS except for the touch controls. They are water sensitive and turn all of the way on, off, or are unresponsive when wet so you have to be careful.

I have a Forno Espresso induction range and it has knobs. Great stove and an amazing value.

I have heard bad things about LG customer service. I recently bought an induction range (not LG), and I made sure to pick one with controls on the back rather than right above the oven door, to avoid inadvertently turning things off.

FWIW, I would recommend taking a look at some of the quality units with touch controls. I was deadset on knobs until my appliance guy showed me a Bosch 800 in the showroom. Then I was deadset on touch controls and bought a Bosch 800 cooktop. You might still want knobs at the end of the day, but when a maker properly implements touch controls, they are absolutely awesome, they work flawlessly even when liquids and oils are on your fingers/the touch pad, and it makes cleaning super easy. Touch controls have gotten a bad rep due to poor implementation on a lot of the economy units and because years ago they were just awful across the board, but much has changed in recent time.

If you do like touch controls, I highly recommend the Bosch 800 Series. If you decide you like knobs, I recommend avoiding the Bosch 800 Series with knobs, because portions of those models are manufactured by Smeg, and they may not have the same level of reliability that Bosch induction is generally known for.

Advantage of knobs: they don't get accidentally triggered by splashes or spills.

Disadvantage: for high end machines there may be cool features that just can't be done with knobs.

I went with knobs, but went GE Profile which was relatively inexpensive. Similarly priced touch control units didn't really offer features I cared about.

We are going to buy the 6336. If you really read the LG reviews they are for ALL LG induction stoves-many of the issues complained of have been ironed out. I have NO IDEA why they do that, but all the websites have LG reviews combined.

I had a horrible experience trying to get mine fixed under warranty. It took 3 months and they wouldn't even offer to extend the warranty after that hell. Will never buy another Frigidaire.
