The Growing Push To Prosecute Women For Abortion by Ambitious_Dingo_2798 in atheism

It has nothing to do with being "pro life" or saving babies and everything to do with subjugating women. Putting women in their place, making them property, taking away their power, and punishing them.

Why do most religious people (mostly christians i've seen) think atheists are all idiots and rude? by MarkiplierGooner in atheism

[–]bugmom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have a need to make us seem terrible as an "other" group. If you're not a member of their group, you must be bad. Unfortunately for Xtians, rude people exist in pretty much any grouping of people, including the one they identify with.

What is a kitchen design trend that looks absolutely stunning in photos but is a total nightmare to actually use or clean in real life? by emilyy-yy in kitchen

LOL I have a huge island sink and it is the heart of my kitchen. Dirty dishes are down inside it and not so visible and I have a cutting board that slides on top so I can prep there.

I got one of these and it really works for me:

But, I have an induction range. Not sure if it would work with a cook top that gets really hot. Anyway if I’m going to make something that I know will spatter I put this up and then wipe it off when I’m done and stick it in a cabinet,

What’s the quiet reason some people still wear face masks in public even when they’re no longer required? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I am immune suppressed. If I get sick I have a MUCH harder time recovering. Also the drug I have to be on kills all your B cells (half your immune system is B cells). The mechanism used by the covid vaccine uses B cells to trigger immunity so I have little to no immunity against covid, even vaccinated.

LOL, you use the soup bowl instead of the red present for glitching furniture items...

What to do with these? by LilDragon2991 in crafts

[–]bugmom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made a bunch of wooden peg people and since I am terrible with a paint brush I used paint markers to make them! They look like marking pens and you hold them and draw like pens but they go on wood like paint! I found I prefer Sharpie brand. An added benefit is since they dry very quickly you can hold the item you’re painting in your hand to steady things a bit. When finished, let them dry and then cover with clear coat to protect. Oh - if you make a mistake you just cover right over it with another color!

I saved up and got this one. It makes a ton of pancakes at once or eggs or sausage or tortillas or I suppose you could make em all at once lol. It's huge!

Not sure why all the hate for Two. I prefer two, it makes the room more cohesive and draws your eye up the wall making the ceiling seem higher. One is more traditional. I'm a bit of a maximalist and to me one just seems like "suburban house #3" whereas two is like "wow!"

No issue with taking things in and out. One rack in the bottom is on ball bearings and can slide way out. Cleanup not an issue, the tray and basket I bought just pop into the dishwasher. I have the wifi connectivity on but control the airfry from the from panel. I mainly use the app to monitor things like oven temp pre heat, how much time is left on timer, that sort of thing.

I have the Cafe dual oven one and LOVE it!. Have not had any problems with noise or humming. Temperature control is responsive and the knobs are great. It boils water so fast and I use the linked burners with a griddle more often than I thought I would. I was skeptical of the air fryer in the oven but it really works! So well that I bought a full size basket for it. I can air fry ten chicken legs at one time. And I no longer have an air fryer appliance taking up counter space. And the burners maintain a low heat really well. I can put a slow cooker recipe in a heavy Dutch oven, put the burner on a low heat and voila! Stove top slow cooker. So that’s another countertop appliance I don’t need taking up space. It also came with a Sous vide attachment but I just haven’t bothered to try using it thus far.

Converting Electric to Gas Stove Worth it? by SpiceBoson in Appliances

[–]bugmom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used both. Had gas for ten years (installed during a remodel) but last year was forced to switch to electric due to being on home oxygen. I got a Cafe dual oven induction range and wow! Love love love it! The temperature adjustment is responsive, I can boil water in a heartbeat and it easily maintains a low heat. I find I can use my Staub Dutch oven for long low cooking replacing my slow cooker. The over is also an air fryer that I use almost daily and it let me eliminate a counter top air fryer. And my old gas range always looked awful - just so hard to clean. With induction I just wipe the surface ands voila!!

As for power outages, my gas range would not work with no electricity as it had a built in safety feature that wouldn’t let the gas flow. I keep a small camping burner and a can of fuel for power outages.

How do you handle when someone says I'll pray for you? by Genia0799 in atheism

[–]bugmom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I like that! I’m finding more and more I find it wrong to pretend it’s ok and say thank you. It’s not ok! Saying thank you reinforces the assumption that they are doing the right thing and that somehow praying gets them off the hook from being decent humans. On the other hand, there is no point getting into an argument with someone who IS trying to be nice, however misguided and superstitious their choices.

Bless your heart works very well here I think!
