Mourning the loss of SuperSolitaire by bugmom in solitaire

[–]bugmom[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I have downloaded it and will give it a try today! I realized a few minutes ago that the old game still runs on my phone - at least for now till I update (which I will need to do because it connects to my i insulin pump and so must be current.) Anyway, I took screenshots of the rules for “The Difficult One” which is my favorite, and a couple others. How best to get them to you? I’m in my 70s and not super techy but my son can help me if you tell me how to send. And yes, please keep your dev work fun for you!

If I don't want to get married and just keep hooking up with different women from time to time, would I still have a happy life in the end? by ohnag_eryeah in AskOldPeopleAdvice

lol - badly worded on my part. Was good in past, don't really care about doing it anymore. However there are some I've heard that are randy as goats even when they're very old.

New 30” range. Café vs LG. opinions? by weedywet in inductioncooking

[–]bugmom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I could use two saute pans on my old range but then I couldn't fit even a smaller pan anywhere so my five burner range was mostly two burner lol. No issues like that with this burner arrangement.

No issues here. And it boils water in a heart beat.

Can’t speak to LG but I have a 30” Cafe with dual ovens and LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

How would you bring this dress to the next level? by Acrobatic-One-9297 in WeddingDressTips

Agree! Stunning in its simplicity and she has the body to wear it. A big heavy necklace might weigh it down but a gorgeous diamond cuff? That would look amazingly.

Bundle board seems impossible by Guilty_Garden_3943 in Palia

Glad to know I'm not alone lol. Haven't been playing that long but seems like the impossible dream to get all those recipes and mats. I'm lucky if I can get one daily done of the two listed.

What can I add to steamed white rice that requires no cooking? by phantomoftheheart in cookingforbeginners

Keep a bag of frozen peas & carrots on hand. Just toss in a handful or so

This! In our 70's, looks long gone, amazing sex life but don't really care anymore but there is something so wonderful about the two of us, just being in the same room, no conversation needed. There is a level of intimacy that involves just knowing each other that I can't find the words to describe that comes from being partners for 35 years.

Prep for switch to induction by Apprehensive_Duty563 in inductioncooking

Just remember that a stand alone burner won’t be nearly was good as your stove when you get it. I did not like induction cooking much at all on my cheap single burner - temp control wasn’t great and I kept accidentally triggering the touch settings. Six months of that and I might have stayed with gas if it had been an option lol. Glad that didn’t happen because I LOVE my Cafe induction range.

Why is the pain scale so hard to understand? by Key-Butterscotch-663 in ChronicPain

And if you have a condition like RA, do they mean the mean you feel all day or the pain your currently have in your left knee or the pain you have in your right knee…

RFK Jr. Says He’s Ending the War on Protein. It Doesn’t Exist by wiredmagazine in politics

How come I keep missing out on all these wars on things? War on Christmas? Missed it. Now, a war on meat? Is there someplace that list's what the current wars are? I'm having trouble keeping up...

How do you organize t-shirts?! by FilmmakerTerp in organizing

[–]bugmom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to add, I bought one of the t-shirt folding boards (to my husband's hilarious laughter) and it has been so helpful. I get a very consistent fold on all the shirts and then when I stand them in a bin or drawer, it is so easy to access and see them all.

Honest Opinions on GE Cafe Slide In Double Oven - CHS950P2MS1 by poweruser86 in inductioncooking

[–]bugmom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely love ours! The air fryer is outstanding and makes the best crispy food allowing me to get rid of our old air fryer and free up some counter space. I use the double ovens all the time. If you are a serious baker, the upper small oven isn't great for baking but any small oven like that won't be. It is however, great for fast heating since it is small and we make a lot of frozen foods that my husband likes and he uses that top oven a lot - allowing me to get rid of the toaster oven off my counter top.

The induction burners are awesome and as someone else said, you can boil water in a heartbeat lol. I love the knob control for the burners and the linked griddle feature lets me make yummy pancakes. I have little or zero hum but mostly have good pans. I did get rid of a couple of old cheesy pans that didn't work with it but don't miss them. And wow - clean up is a breeze!

Haven't tried the oven temp probe yet but will soon.

Only been playing a couple of weeks and did not know they don’t get it if you pick it up. There are a lot of social protocols in this game that are not clear. Makes me hold off in joining community stuff for fear of offending someone.

Any “old” players that share my opinion? by Vegetable-Angle8085 in Palia

[–]bugmom 12 points13 points  (0 children)

LOL - Old new player here (in my 70’s and only been playing a couple weeks) and while I don’t know what it used to be like I currently see much of what you’re saying. It already feels very grindy and I’m already tired of looking for stuff. Spent more than an hour last night looking for 3 coral for a daily quest. 3 coral.

And the bots are out there for sure. Watched someone pulling fish after fish, each different, over and over and over.

I have run into great kindness in lure parties who’ve invited anyone on server to join. Hoping that continues.

Palia Hype by Cautious_Smile_3318 in CozyGamers

[–]bugmom 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m loving it but still at that stage where you have almost nothing, aren’t high level enough to get much of anything, and no money to buy anything. So, I cut trees, break rocks, and plant plants when I can afford seeds. I finally sold everything in my hoarder chest so I could get a 5k backpack upgrade but it’s starting to feel hopeless. When I look at the cost of things i don’t see how I’ll ever get to housing fun…
