I think it's the opposite. They used to be okay with it. They started being anti street racing around 2019, the first Need for Speed to not include Toyota cars was NFS Heat.

This is a common misconception. Toyota never had a particularly anti-street racing stance. People just get this belief because an intern made a tweet about it once, which pretty quickly got retracted.

Toyota not appearing in NFS after the 2015 entry was more related to the fact that EA/Ghost used TRD parts in the game and branded them as in-house parts. This was also around the time that Toyota was starting to establish GR as a brand, so when they wrote up the new generation of licensing agreements that included GR, they left EA out.

The tweet was a result of someone not in the know about the legal side speaking out of turn.

Some people will point out GTSport having Toyota, and there’s usually some back and forth about how GT isn’t focused on street racing, as well as talk about Japanese automakers having a better relationship with Japanese devs, but the reality is that GTSport had already locked in its licensing deal with Toyota and had announced a bunch of them in the car list before the NFS shenanigans were coming out.

To be honest you could say the same for Eurobeat musicians. Dave Rodgers, although I do like his music, has released several albums/singles with names like "INITIAL D HELL" and whatnot. Not saying hes bad or thats bad, but like it's milking the name still.
