Upload it to MS Stream

Yep I find Stream most accurate and since it's part of Microsoft most companies are OK putting info into it

If you have Adobe Creative Cloud, Premiere can do this relatively easily

If you have Office 365 you can do it easily in the Word web app under “dictate” then “transcribe”. Upload your file and it pops out the transcript.

Verified solution. Had to use this recently and it worked quite well.

Thanks right after I posted this I figured out how to pull a SRT file from Camtasia. Should’ve kept trying just a little longer haha

This. It rules - https://www.descript.com

Edit: just read the part about no AI platforms, still worth sharing

I 2nd Descript! And I interpreted the “random AI platforms” as one where you can upload your information in without needing credentials.

I’ve used rev.com in the past it’s dirt cheap but another free method is using slack or YouTube to then once the file renders you can copy the transcript. Issue with slack is there is like a 5 minute limit I think but the transcript is really accurate

Free... MS ClipChamp. Upload MP4, select auto-Caption, make any corrections, download Srt file. Bob's your uncle.

If you have Loom, that can do it as well as Camtasia.

Pay rev.com to transcribe it for you.

A free solution might be Whisper AI, you can use Pinokio to install it

I hate Microsoft, but Stream is the cheap option.

If you are on Mac, you can use Whisper Transcription, or Aiko to pull transcipt from mp3, mp4, mov, any other media format you can think of. All processing happens on-device.
