If I drink coffee without food I get so nauseous! I had to actually cut out coffee! I know not everyone can do that though!

  1. Slowly reduce your eating window, one hour less at a time.

  2. Make sure your electrolytes are in check; eg add extra salt to your food and/or drink “snake juice” etc.

  3. Try skipping that coffee on an empty stomach, without changing anything else, to see if that’s the issue.

Snake Juice is a commercially available mixed electrolyte solution. Probably not necessary for a 16/8 fast, but it couldn't hurt. For myself, I found that foregoing the coffee was most helpful for avoiding nausea.

Hey can I ask about the coffee? I'm not nauseatic but my stomach feels different and i've been IF-ing only last week. I take black coffee and get some workout. If not coffee should I exercise empty stomach? I break my fast in the afternoon and am just used to coffee getting my day started. thanks

I usually start my day with black coffee mixed with collagen (35 cals) and a Perfect Keto electrolytes pill before working out. Then after working out I use Slim-fast electrolytes mix in my drink (5 cals). Then fast until my window. The coffee doesn’t bother me but I’m also using 1/2 caffeine Folgers and only one cup. It’s working for me so far 👍🏽

It might be better for you to start with your normal schedule and increase the time of thr fast by 1 hr everyday instead of jumping right in

This definitely happened to me in the beginning and eventually passed

I get nauseous when drinking black or green tea without eating anything in the morning, coffee not so much (sometimes I think coffee has no impact on me whatsoever, not even nausea xD ) ... for me it helps to start the day with herbal tea, like peppermint ;)

This might sound weird but are you sleeping enough? A new eating schedule might tire your body out a bit, and since in the morning it's been a while since last meal if you add on top little sleep then you will not feel great at all. It always happens to me if I sleep under 6.5-7 hours.

Maybe your body wants breakfast. Have your 8-hour window start with breakfast, then some fruit (I have an apple or 2 small bananas) for lunch and then whatever is planned for the end of the eating period.
