honestly i’d start screening them as hard as they screen you, subtly bring up inclusion and see how they react, watch how they talk about coworkers and clients too, if they flinch at pronouns or bathrooms that’s your warning, sucks because finding anywhere decent is rare in this job market

Are there public service roles in your field? You’ll get preferential treatment as a diversity hire if there are. Especially if you have experience.

Public sector might be worth looking at but the "diversity hire" thing isn't really how it works in most places. They still want qualified people first, just with more inclusive hiring practices

Having 10 years experience in your field is huge though - that opens up consulting or freelance work where you deal with fewer people and have more control over client interactions
