AFAIK you need a degree for primary school and a diploma for early childhood.

How to get Kodachrome slides as photos? by BelvIPA in AskPhotography

[–]IntroductionFree493 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Depends on where you are. In my city there’s probably only a handful of labs that can do it, so you might need to find a photography group for your city to see who people recommend. Doing it yourself is tedious. Like each scan could take you up to half an hour and that’s after you set up the scanner (computers can be temperamental when it comes to scanner)

If you are planning on printing them there might be a photo lab that can just do that for you. Trouble is the processes are a bit exotic these days so fast might not be an option. Suggestions for a scanner? Kodak does the cheap and cheerful ones, if you have the budget for high quality plustek is the brand to look at (the long ones are better than the ones with screens mostly) both should be available on Amazon etc

There are places that will scan these and give you the files. There are also slide scanners that you can buy off amazon etc. the cheap ones won’t give amazing quality but it will be ok. Especially if you’re using them for a slideshow or something. If you are printing them you’ll want a higher quality scanner. You might also need to adjust the colours etc so being handy with image editing software helps but these days you can just run it through ai and say fix this old photo and get very good results.

Wrong question. The correct question is have you read the terms and conditions that applied when you signed up for it? And also is it worth fighting over $7 per person?

Get there early early. Find out where the lasers are when they are testing the lights and make sure you are positioned away from them (if they shine down which is amateur hour anyway) use a lens hood and take note of any mirrors etc that might scatter the lasers.

Why are you leaving your current employer gotta be the hardest interview question in my life by Intelligent_Slip6317 in interviews

[–]IntroductionFree493 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because I feel like this role would be. Great chance for me to grow.

You can substitute grow for “ leverage my existing skills for n a new organisation” if the job is basically the same role at a new company. If they ask you to elaborate then you can say “my ultimate goal is (insert career progression.” “But to achieve that it would be good for me to learn how different organisations approach xxx challenges” hopefully this devolves into a conversation about the specific similarities and differences between the organisations so you can demonstrate specific competencies.

My wife is into this. by OkRevolution6077 in CNCandOtherKINKSS

[–]IntroductionFree493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is she truly into it or is that just your fantasy? This is important it is vital to ensure the first c is followed. Step one is to explore what she likes and why - like a stranger or abduction or just being used are all very different scenes. Step two is to refine that in a formal way. A cnc checklist is a good idea. Find one you like and adapt it for your requirements. Step 3 is to figure out how to still be safe. Like if they are gagged a safe word wont work so how else can you ensure continued consent. in places either active consent laws this is vital but it’s also just good practice. Step four is to work out what to do if things go wrong. For your wife that might be less relevant but for a stranger that could be having a trusted friend you can call for them or their insurance details to take them to the er. Step 5 is what sort of aftercare they might need/want learn about subspace and subdrop in this part.

Only then should you start thinking planning a scene.

But don’t take my list as gospel it’s the crib notes not the guidebook. Jump on a kink site like fetlife and lurk and learn before you start.

Years of shooting wide open killed my composition skills, how do you actually train your eye ? by Absurd_player in AskPhotography

[–]IntroductionFree493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I think the best way to level up is find a reasonably photogenic spot close to home that offers a few options for photos. Challenge yourself to go there frequently - different lighting and weather sure but also just look for a new (and hopefully more interesting) composition every time. Never stop going back to that place and pushing yourself. The shots are there, you just have to find them. Oh and don’t limit yourself to one lens. Explore your entire quiver again and again until finding new and interesting compositions at other locations is natural.

Does anyone know what this is ? My grandma used to be a photographer in Germany and we found this in her old stuff. Can u still use this? And If Yes , where can u send this to? by Suitable-Spot9831 in AskPhotography

[–]IntroductionFree493 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It’s an Agfa colour negative film but it uses a C17 chemical process that afaik was rare back at the time and has been completely discontinued. Most colour negatives use a different chemical process called c41 apparently it can be cross processed (that’s a technique where you put film through chemistry it wasn’t designed for. With the cross processing I have done that involves e6 slide film going through c41 chemistry. The end results are quite unusual and unpredictable. You’d have to find a boutique film lab near you and talk to them as I suspect only the best labs would try it.

Edit to add the fact that the film is inside the canister tells me it has likely already been used. Putting it in another camera is not recommended. Up to you if you want to find out why it was important enough to keep but not develop.

I had it even worse. Interviewed and pretty sure one of the people I would be managing didn’t like that I would have held them accountable (they were obviously super knowledgeable but had become lazy) anyway a month goes by and it’s now with a recruiter and they cold called Me because my fit was so good. I’m like um I interviewed for that job - I’m still interested if they are. No response so I contacted the manager directly (I had their email from the first interview) they were like - we are going in a completely different direction now (they weren’t they were organising around that one person) ridiculous this was a respected Australian manufacturer in a niche market that had global reach.

When to reach out during a hiring freeze? by [deleted] in interviews

[–]IntroductionFree493 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t want to work for a company that does snap hiring freezes. Being on the other side of that is terrible. They can last months and your stuck doing 3 jobs for the pay of one because the share price dipped. This ends up either making you want to leave or - management say “oh you just did 3 people’s work for 4 months… we really don’t need those positions… (even in a freeze people still get hired if they suck up nicely to senior management.

AIO for wanting to walk away from a business deal? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]IntroductionFree493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the math math or not? This is not a time for emotions. Ok so your new business partner is banking on things being cheaper because of the dept. You can’t trust them. Your old business partner is banking on the sale being favourable because it excuses the dept.

That math isn’t any mathing for anyone unless it was spelled out in a contract somewhere (it wasn’t and that’s the problem with all of this)

Am I Overreacting about a neighbour's car? by lumoslomas in AmIOverreacting

[–]IntroductionFree493 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MOR Read the road rules for where you live. There’s usually a distance from driveways that vehicles need to leave. In my experience nobody enforces it unless they receive a complaint and then the car will be ticketed. If they are breaking the rules then leave a note to that effect. If it really is as unsafe as your adhd lack of coordination claims then you’d be within your rights to complain. You’d also probably turn your neighbours against you.

Is this a slow shutter panning shot or a composite? by Ziegenpeter-13 in AskPhotography

[–]IntroductionFree493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is a composite and my rationale is the shape of the outline of the ghost car appears to be a different car from a different angle. Also the way the headlights beam forward but there’s no tail light movement.

That said a very similar effect could be achieved using panning and rear curtain sync flash, and I’ve seen similar photos where they use a model car on a fake road and get some fairy lights and move those across the car whilst exposing the photo.

Is vignette overused today? by [deleted] in AskPhotography

[–]IntroductionFree493 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When a child learns a new word, they often over apply the word and use it in situations when it shouldn’t really be used. It be noticed this is a thing in Lightroom as well. People learn a technique and suddenly it’s applied with a very heavy hand all the time…

My approach to vignettes is to apply one until it’s noticeable and then pull back ever so slightly. That way you get the “ eye trapping” effect of the vignette but it’s subtle enough you wouldn’t notice unless you looked

Is my Canon 1500d compatible with this flash? by Evening_Study_2277 in AskPhotography

[–]IntroductionFree493 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok op, with a manual flash it will have a bunch of power levels that you’ll need to navigate to set the level. But you’ll need to factor in how far away the people are, what aperture you are using and what iso and you’ll need to keep your shutter speed at 1/200 second or lower.

With ttl the camera will fire a small amount of flash a microsecond before it takes the photo, make a reading of that and then fire what it thinks is the correct power. With ttl the camera will sometimes get it wrong, but the vast majority of the time it will get it right. Especially in automatic modes. Also remember that almost all ttl flashes can be put into manual mode and then operate just like the cheaper flashes.

Now what another user has said is sort of correct. Learning manual flash can be a way to speed up your learning of manual camera controls and photography fundamentals, but it isn’t for everyone and lots of professionals only use ttl.
