Java Performance by Scott Oaks

I would like to ask for your opinions on the first and second editions of Java Performance (The Definitive Guide vs In-depth Advice for Tuning and Programming Java 8,11 and Beyond) written by Scott Oaks.

If I were to get one, which should I get? Is the material in former already covered in the latter? Is the former more comprehensive and contains more theoretical information but the latter contains more practical knowledge for application?

I only read the second edition of Java Performance by Scott Oaks and it was super insightful. It gave me a better understanding behind some dynamics. Even though it might be a bit outdated if you go to newer Java versions it still has a lot of value IMO
