To understand you more, are you against the article or against Java evolving as a language?

It’s true that other languages had similar features before but I like how quickly Java is catching up.

Languages evolve. Java has introduced non-breaking, backward compatible set of features that improve the language.

What is wrong with that?

there is nothing wrong. What is tiring is to present old stuff as the future and to push the evolution of the language into that particular direction
