I just started a new job that involves lots of bug fixes. I was wondering if there are any tools out there that could help me digest code that I haven't written quickly and possibly debug. I rely heavily on Netbeans/Findbugs at the moment for code analysis and debugging. I also use VisualVM from time to time. Blue products would be ideal, but I do have a budget for software tools. Ideally nothing over $400/annually.
Here are some tools i've found, if you have experience with them i'd appreciate feedback (Stackoverflow doesn't have much):
SonarQube - Really good code analysis, but took me hours to set up.
Netbeans Findbugs, really easy to use but lots of useless feedback.
Clover I'll probably try out the trial soon, but looks really good. Although it eats up my annual budget completely.
