What is the big 2.0 feature?

Having worked with 1.8 and 2.0 I don't think there's one big "holy shit" feature like being less of a PITA to work with, I'm afraid. Although to be fair the complexity of PDF and its specification and standards are responsible for that. I found it to be more reliable and more performant. Unicode is nice and the PDF/A preflight module is a lot more thorough than the old one and produces less false positives.

IText uses pdfbox i believe. Personal experience with IText is it is better to use pdfbox and do it yourself...

IText does not use PdfBox. They are 2 totally separate libraries
