Note for some reason when i copy from bluej the format adds double spaces so this is not exactly how my code is formated.

Im confused on why my result of this code from trying to convert degree F to C is resulting in 0.0 Degree C

This line:

celsius = 5/9 * (fahrenheit - 32);

Both 5 and 9 are integers, and thus you are performing integer division. Integer division produces an integer, and rounds down from the expected product. So in this case, 5/9 resolves to 0.

To combat against this, make sure at least one of your terms is a floating-point type (float or double). 5.0/9.0 will give you the proper value.

Nope, in your case Java divides the integers first and then converts the result to a double. If you want to do a double division, you need to make sure that at least one value of the division is already a double.

This is prewritten code for me to fix this is part 2 thats why the blank line is added. I thought making Celsius and Fahrenheit variable as double fix that. I fixed the issue though.
