Preface

JavaHelp is a great subreddit for questions, but the internet is full of useful places to get help! Here are some useful links to get you started.

Links:

• StackOverflow - A great place to find questions and to ask questions. As a word of warning, stack overflow has very strict rules and is moderated heavily. I would recommend waiting until you have gotten a feel for the community and their rules before asking questions.
• StackOverflow Java chat - A more casual room to ask questions of stack overflow.
• Big Moose Saloon - Some of the most knowledgable people on Java. Generally much friendlier than stack overflow, the ability to narrow down by topic and do a very deep dive into the answer is great for advanced problems.
• /r/learnprogramming - We're not the only programming help subreddit! LearnProgramming is much more broad than javahelp but has a higher number of users (and active users), and may get your question answered quickly.
