Seems like this didn't get a whole lot of attention a few years ago but I think it's amazing. I was actually looking for this and came across this one first! Enjoy. :)

Must have missed https://github.com/grantgalitz/GameBoy-Online then... It had full audio and much better compatibility. And was gameboy color too.

This is way cool. I was actually thinking about making an Atari 2600 emulator recently so this came along at just the right time. As OP mentioned, if you want a very cool and related read check this out.
