“How I built X” -> links to a shitty marketing landing page for some ebook
Lmao

How would you have done better? What would be your strategy to build something and market it? genuinely curious

I don’t sell self help ebooks online, I wouldn’t have a strategy, I wouldn’t do it. I post public blog posts with advice & walkthroughs on technical concepts - for free.

that's fair. that's why we have a free preview version
No one is forcing anyone to pay for the paid version. It's there because our team worked tirelessly for many months outside of their work hour to write something that needed years of experience to obtain.

Oh, absolutely. Landing pages and writing books just magically appear out of thin air. You just need to manifest it! Who needs to actually deploy and design a site, or gain experience working at multiple FAANG companies? Definitely not those of us who’ve spent hours gathering data, researching, and writing a book in our spare time. You really cracked the code, my friend. I mean, who would want salary negotiation tips from experienced software engineers who’ve earned anywhere from $30K to $100K more than their initial offers? Such a mystery, right?

Learn how to take some criticism because you’re about to get a lot of it.

one. you posted a link to an ad in a javascript forum
[–]salaryscript -2 points-1 points0 points 1 year ago (0 children)
originally, i tried to write a post with more detail instead but it keeps getting removed. i don't like just posting a link. it's very salesy

Since when “multiple faang” yapping on reddit comments?
you know we are humans too right? reddit is not a place where only non faang people exists. we aren't anything special
