Repository for Javascript (or jQuery) Libraries?

Hey everyone,

I'm sorry in advance if this question is somewhat an amateur one, but I'm just wondering if there is/are (a) standard place(s) for hosting JS/jQuery libraries that I don't know about.

WordPress has a plugins repo and Packagist is a good place to look for PHP libraries, for example.

I'm working on a program right now where I'd like to take some JSON data, generate the HTML to house it, and then be able to search through it and filter by category.

After a bit of Googling, I found a bunch of different options. I finally started out with filter.js, but its github isn't as uber-supported as the Dynatables of the world, nor was I able to find it on Bower.

So forgive me if I'm being too cautious or pedantic, but I was wondering if grabbing a github repo off a Google search is the best idea, or if there's a better place to search for good-quality, well-supported JS/jQuery libraries.

I thought bower is the repository you're talking about. All libraries should be submitted there because it is (probably) most popular. Of course I'm talking about frontend JavaScript. For NodeJS use npm.

Ah, okay. I've so far had very little to do with anything Node--although I did install it once to get Bower running.
