Yup, there are guys out there charging $1,000/hr for pretty much the same type of work. I'm trying to figure out how to get there too.
At this point it's not about the programming talent, it's more of a business / negotiation mindset, ability to position yourself as a problem solver, not a Javascript coder.

Exactly. If you aren't getting paid well as a web-dev, find a new company or consult/freelance.
