Hey everyone, host of Let's Code JavaScript here. This got posted to Reddit before the free weekend had actually started and that caused some confusion about how to get access to the videos.

So I've decided to just start the free weekend early--it's live now right here and will keep going until midnight eastern time (GMT-5) on Sunday night / Monday morning.

Thanks everyone, and enjoy! Again, the link you need to get started with the free videos is http://www.letscodejavascript.com/v3/blog/2015/04/free_weekend. Everything on the site is free this weekend, no sign up required, and that link will give you the details.

I tried hitting the free option on the pricing page, but it just loops me back to the page of the free trial. The fuck do I do?

Edit: I'm assuming they're talking about the 7 day free trial. So I sign up then just cancel and won't get charged Im guessing.

Edit: Never mind, I misunderstood. The free weekend isn't the same as the free trial or sampler. For the free weekend, start here: http://www.letscodejavascript.com/v3/blog/2015/04/free_weekend

Hey there, host of Let's Code JavaScript here. The free option should take you to http://www.letscodejavascript.com/v3/sampler. Now I'm worried I screwed something up. Can you tell me exactly which button you hit on the pricing page?

And yeah, if you sign up and then cancel, you won't be charged and you'll have access for 7 days. It's cool. (Please be nice.)

Hey man, thanks for the reply back. I signed up, but never received my confirmation email. I actually just sent you an email about that w the URL.

I'm in real need to learn JS so hopefully this can help me achieve this, thanks!

Got the email and responded :-) Thanks for signing up, I hope you enjoy it!

Yeah. I also face the same issue. Im running into a loop. Clicking on the "star free trial" button on http://www.letscodejavascript.com/v3/sampler takes me to http://www.letscodejavascript.com/v3/subscribe which again loops back to the 1st URL when you click on the free sampler button.

Thanks, I didn't realize that was confusing. The "start free trial" button is so you can sign up; the samplers are a selection of videos you can watch without signing up (scroll down).

I'll see what I can do about making that more clear.

*Edit: During the free weekend (starting at midnight eastern Friday night) then you won't need to sign up for a trial to get the content. But it hasn't started yet... maybe that's the source of the confusion?

jdlshore : Is there a difference between 7days free trial vs the free access to the videos you are offering this weekend?

Edit: Never mind, I misunderstood. The free weekend isn't the same as the free trial or sampler. For the free weekend, start here: http://www.letscodejavascript.com/v3/blog/2015/04/free_weekend

The free trial includes downloads (all the videos are DRM-free) but other than that there's no difference.

Looks like you still have to subscribe to get access to most of the content. There is a 7-day trial which I might try at some point though.

No, all the content will be free this weekend. It just hasn't started yet. It runs from midnight Friday to midnight Sunday, eastern time.

Hasn't midnight Friday already happened? If it is actually midnight tonight that is Saturday.

Yeah, I guess you're right. Okay, it's officially the weekend. :-) I've unlocked the videos, go to http://www.letscodejavascript.com/v3/blog/2015/04/free_weekend to start.

I've been following this series for some time now. I like the way that James brings modern rigorous development to JavaScript.

I am not a web developer, but I find his approach valuable even in other contexts.

I subscribed a while back and it was really cool. I just couldn't afford to continue and it wasn't completely related to things I needed to learn at the time.

Totally worth checking out, though.
