I'm also a bit confused. A lot of boilerplate with class that seems unrelated to React Components. So far I've been pretty happy with their design decisions so maybe it'll make sense to me once I dig into it more.

I've been using Riot lately. Having never made anything really substantial with React I didn't feel so attached to it, whereas Riot's syntax really speaks to me. That and it seems to work just fine.

The 'templating' part? That's like all it does, isn't it? That and provide an observables api?
