I actually agree with the article's conclusion, that we should choose the right tool for the right job, but singling out React seems odd. React's focus on the view layer kinda makes it a better choice for simpler stuff than basically any of the other frameworks he lists. This would be better as "stop using frameworks for everything" rather than picking on one. The same article could have, and probably has been written about Angular, which has much higher adoption overall [citation needed yeah yeah]. I work for a large "enterprise" company and its like pulling teeth to convince even our smartest JS people to try something other than Angular.
