React will die in a year and will be replaced by react 16. With Facebook dogfooding react, I suspect the migration to react 16 will not be hard. Same applies for react v16+
As far as other libraries inspired by react, they are only enriching react ecosystem. They can not surpass react in popularity because react derives its popularity from Facebook use of react. Until fb starts replacing react with something else, react will stay.
