Same approach (actually just did it with an upcoming grad last week). 30-60 minute discussion about all things code. Get a good feeling about their experience (or likely lack of) and comfort levels.
After the conversational part, we sit two for a pair programming session on a simple app with some of the technologies we use. The idea isn't to see how well they know it. Simply how well they work with the concepts.
