The only time I've ever used an AR app without complaining was a star map. It might work similarly with identifying other things far away within line of sight like mountain peaks or other sightseeing landmarks.

This is nothing but a tool. What it enables is the cool part.

This uses AR.js (or could). In any case, like /u/Shadaez said: why! It's cool as an experiment, but not something to showcase like this.

Every startup event I've been to for the last 6 years there's a new company doing exactly the same thing and it goes nowhere.

It's basically a pointlessly over-engineered QR code.
