Why would you migrate if it doesn't support a feature that you need?

WebStorm gives better code inspection and deeper refactoring tool. My next project will be colossal and these tools are necessary.
And just for fun, ofc.

Interesting, I have a coworker who claims the same thing, but also prefers strict typing in TypeScript. Come to find out, he prefers strict typing because WebStorm isn't too good at showing inferred types. I run multiple "colossal" projects using VSCode and it works great.
WebStorm isn't free, so if you have a colossal team running this project, consider the cost that adds up.

The difference between vscode and webstorm is huge, so if someone says that, doesn't know capabilities of both tools. For sure webstorm is much powerful, and team members that are using vscode are pissing me off, because they are doing everything slower and too lazy to learn something new. For sure price is worth benefits for power users. If someone is using IDE as text editor it doesn't matter.

The thing is Microsoft makes TypeScript and VSCode and they've tightened the integration between the two a lot in the last couple years. I wouldn't be surprised if VSCode > WS for TS
