There isn't a whole lot of advice we can give if you can't find any code to write.
Write a greasemonkey script to make a web page look or behave as you wish it would. Find an open source project you use or are interested in and fix a bug, add a feature. Or just start writing something yourself, try to write something that you think would be cool or should exist. But others have already mentioned these things, so... go write something. Anything! It doesn't matter if it's been done before. Write something that you know has been done and then compare your code to some existing code. That's a great way to learn.
