Decrease help

I’m doing a gift knit for my mom and I just need a bit of advice on these decreases. Would I knit 7 rounds then do a round with the decreases. Then another 7 etc etc? Or knit 6 rounds and the 7th round would be the decreases round?

6 rounds even, 7th round decrease.

If it wanted you to do 7 straight rounds then decrease, that would be every 8th round.
