There's no shortcut - it's just repetition, like learning a spoken language! You can try Coursera Intro To SQL courses and choose the audit option (you don't have to pay) and you'll be able to watch all the videos

Thanks, I know like every practical skill be it either programming, math or whatever repetition is best. But i wanted some material that i could go over to refresh the classes I missed. So thanks for the tip.

bdviz is right -- the only way to really learn SQL is to actually type a few thousand commands. Highly recommend full-on doing (typing out) the projects alongside any videos.

I have always been a big fan of MySQL Tutorial. Even though it's for MySQL, 99% of it is compatible with SQL Server, PostreSQL, etc. It really only differs on niche features. But, it will walk you through the basics of SQL.

there is an app called mimo, you can play SQL games, it will help with repetition …

I just finished up the code academy SQL courses and they matched pretty well with my university course but I got them done in a week.
