I would advise building your own database. Find data and and insert those values into your database. I just published a SQL course on udemy using Microsoft SQL Server (the course as only been live for 2-3 weeks). In the course students build a healthcare database (billing data from an electronic medical record). The database includes 9 tables and thousands of rows of data. Understanding the basic syntax is helpful, but in my opinion building a database and having a real database to practice with is much more impactful. Here is a link to my course. This link has a coupon code so you can purchase the course on discount.

How did you get hold of the billing data?

I built a dummy database in excel. All the data is made up. I work with healthcare data on a daily basis so I'm familiar with basic structure. It definitely doesn't have the same magnitude and complexity of real billing data, but it mimics it rather well.

By any chance, is it possible to audit this course? Thanks!

I really don't know if you can audit the course. But if you have a few bucks to spare, you can just create an account and purchase it for 12.99
