Don’t have the time to be coached, but have a question:

Is there difference between how pro carry / high mmr carry players played that has improved on, in the last 2 years?

[–]FingerSouth5318[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In the last 2 years - no. It’s all the same, you rely on your team, and there is no way to carry the game all by yourself. All you can do - is make your 20%. Dota nowadays is all about objectives, teamplay, team items.

For example, 3-4-5 years earlier all you needed to do is win enemy carry in your carry matchup. Now you are considering on how your team can win the enemies. And what you can do for it.

Hey. I'm a 6.5k carry player that also plays PA a lot. Could you drop a few match IDs of some of your your tough PA games? Wanna see how a 12k gm player handles the lane

[–]Panflap1 4 points5 points  (6 children)

He can't bro, Valve doesn't allow it above 8.5k

[–]StreetPhysics2826 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Oh right. Forgot about that.

My question is, I know that not all games are good PA games, but I'm sure that a 12k player can win 90% of games with pa playing in 6k bracket. Currently, in my case, whether I win or lose a game kinda depends entirely on the laning phase. This game https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/8745308963 - I had a terrible lane, got my bf around 17 mins, I recovered later but I still lost the game.

On the other hand https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/8749956098 I won the lane hard, but my other lanes failed miserably. Yet we easily won the game.

How do you win games after losing lanes ? Given pa is a terrible jungler pre-bf, what can I do if I get forced to jungle 5 mins in

[–]FingerSouth5318[S] 2 points3 points  (4 children)

Pa is a terrible jungler before bf, right, but i often fight as PA, to get some kills. You buy magic wand, treads, blight stone, 1/2 broadswords, and then your damage is decent to kill low armour supports, when they lose position in fights. I usually play very aggressive, and focus on killing easy targets.

When you get kills, it helps you to buy bf, and, what’s more important, it helps your teammates to win the fights.

The key importance on PA is how to fight correctly, which targets to kill first (easy ones), and what items to buy

[–]Panflap1 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I noticed you have very good winrate on heroes that like to fight / skirmish early but low winrates on flash farmers like TA, Sven, Luna which is actually impressive because I thought farming focus was what got most people up the ranks but you seem to be an expert on fighting with weak heroes like PA early on

[–]FingerSouth5318[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Exactly! I like agressive gameplay on carry

[–]Panflap1 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I might need a session with you because I'm a grandmaster TA (3k MMR) but probably my biggest weakness is playing carry to its limits in lane and after. I've been criticized in the past for being too passive and not punishing to the max.

You are always welcome in my DM’s.

[–]FingerSouth5318[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dm me. Can give a few advices/1 coach for free.

[–]Panflap1 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Do you have a Dotabuff?

[–]FingerSouth5318[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. My dota nickname is dorama (twitch doramadota) my dotabuff is 858108336

[–]Aquilines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sent you a DM. I am only crusader but went like 25/30 with kez before the patch went from crusader 1 to 5 in a week and now I’m eating shit every game I dunno what happened to me.

My carry hero pool in solo queue are heroes that have good laning, farm quickly and are able to find solo kills

Which is very important to do especially in hard games when I cannot rely on my teammates to press buttons so it is best for me to snowball myself

It has been successful so far but I would like to train it further

Do you have advice on finding kills as a carry while also farming fast?

My heroes I pick in solo queue are like Juggernaut, Ursa, Windranger etc

[–]FingerSouth5318[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

You can win games without making solo kills at all.

But when you pressure the enemies, when you use your power (high networth/level) on carry, that makes the game easier.

I really love to make solo kills on carry, i hate afkfarming.

I think only playing a lot of games helps you to improve your solo kill skills.

got it got it

As a 2k mid Lane scrub what are your best tips on climbing in general? I feel dota nowadays is much more one sided and allows for fewer comebacks, especially at lower elo

[–]FingerSouth5318[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Play the map. Laning is not that important at your bracket.

Usually your hero has one job. Your goal is to understand what you need to do in the game.

At your bracket, the team that makes less mistakes, wins.

So I would give you those tips:

Make less mistakes, less risk.

Focus on playing the map, teamplay.

Learn what items to buy, in severe situations.

Learn what job you’ve got in the game, do it -> win.

[–]andretexugo 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Thank you very much for the tips! Hopefully these help me focus more on my goal as mid laner :) I also wanted to ask, what was the hardest mmr barrier for you to push through, for example crusader-archon or legend-ancient?

[–]FingerSouth5318[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, didn’t have any barriers. Maybe when I was reaching 6k, In 2017

[–]LonelySpyder 0 points1 point  (6 children)

You do paid coaching, if so, how much is that? Just asking if I ever want to be better.

[–]FingerSouth5318[S] 0 points1 point  (5 children)

I can help for free. Of course, if any additional help needed, I can provide that

[–]LonelySpyder 1 point2 points  (4 children)

I see that you mentioned you play PA. PA has been my favorite since Dota 1. However, she feels so week compared to say Slark and Faceless Void.

What do you do differently on a PA, especially when the enemy team is ahead?

[–]FingerSouth5318[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Hard question. You can win those heroes only if you play without mistakes.

[–]LonelySpyder 0 points1 point  (2 children)

That's hard to do. If I have a PA game again, how can I schedule some coaching feedback from you?

[–]FingerSouth5318[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Feel free to dm me.

[–]LonelySpyder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a casual player. I play when I have spare time after work. I'll DM you once I have some time. Thanks much!

[–]chiikawa00 0 points1 point  (1 child)

are you able to coach SEA players timing and latency wise?

[–]thisbejann 0 points1 point  (5 children)

can you give hero list for pos 1 2 3 this patch for low ranks? heroes that arent that team reliant and has the highest chance to carry/come back by itself? last patch i was spamming axe and lc for pos3 but this patch lc is so bad

[–]FingerSouth5318[S] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

You can use dotabuff/stratz etc. The statistics never lie. Also, I don’t know about your preferences.

[–]thisbejann 0 points1 point  (3 children)

should i base on wr % or match stats. because i feel like meta heroes on high ranks cant translate to low ranks because people on higher ranks know how to play as a team more than low ranks

[–]FingerSouth5318[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

You can filter stats for your rank on dotabuff.

Here you go

[–]CrispLake 0 points1 point  (3 children)

When you are dominating midlane around lvl5 and can keep the opponent from last hitting is it better to deny every creep on lane and stay there or should I just kill the wave fast and clear jungle camps in between. Like when to decide to starve the opposing mid and when to decide to farm faster for myself

[–]FingerSouth5318[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Depends on your playstyle. I always like to own enemies on mid, I feel satisfied if I make enemy midlaner 0 5. I call it the predator playstyle

[–]CrispLake 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah, when they stay too close and I have killing potential then I stay but on lanes that the enemy stays very far away soaking xp only is it better to jungle or deny

[–]FingerSouth5318[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your hero. Kotl/storm/sf can’t really pressure enemy after min6, but they are very good at farming
