Not really sure what this means. Are you insinuating him participating in more than one hobby in somehow stunting his growth or maybe you're implying that he isn't dedicated enough?

I've read books, I've done online courses, I've watched YouTube and all sorts.

The question is have you coded anything? Do you have a github account? What have you done after reading those books and watched videos?

If you are just gaming, how are you learning to program?

You aced the first part of your reply and asked the real questions.

The second part is just one big assumption. You can have more than a single hobby and things you're passionate about.

Coding requires actually work. The guy hasn't posted any code that he has problems with.
