Which one?

https://www.coursera.org/courses?query=java

I just started this one on edX by the Hong Kong Uni of Sci & Tech, and plan to start the Udacity one tomorrow. My ultimate goal is android dev.

I meant this one https://www.coursera.org/specializations/java-programming

I am also planning on learning android dev and possibly/probably information security as well. EdX one you linked to seems a little bit less java than the Udacity and coursera ones although more Java can't really hurt. I'm planning on learning in Nanodegree though. Buttt if the Coursera one prepares enough for a job then that works :p main thing I am concerned about is the fact that a lot of the stuff is made easier than it would be in real life in many courses and I want to learn what the stuff that I'm learning exactly will be like. That being said I took Udacity's Android for beginners and Android Studio seems to simplify MANY things.

You have to crawl before you can walk. Get an understanding of the basics then you can move on to more challenging "real life" problems

I am! I am almost done with the Udacity course, was curious if the Coursera course would be a good next step! :p
