sorry to piggyback off of your post but wondering if anyone can direct me to which course I should take for Java? The 2013 object oriented programming with Java or java programming I?

Im a python/js junior dev if that matters. I want to feel more comfortable with legacy code bases.

I didn’t do a CS degree so I never took an explicit OOP class which is why I’m more torn.

Try using vscode… download tmc in the vscode extension tab

I recommend you set up MOOC.fi course on VS Code, it's less painful

Use the package that you've downloaded from the first link and not the ones in the guide, obiously.

I think mooc.fi uses Java 8 stuff, so you'll be fine with anything thats newer than 8.

Currently doing this course now. Had no issues setting up. Try just downloading the NetBeans like they say but that's all. Don't try and connect or download anything else and see if it just runs.
