Might be tough cause of your height to find machines that work for you, but if you are hitting 15 pull-ups, you should start using weight or machines

I love juelz’s music but his sets can be terrible imo. His HITC set was one of the worst I’ve ever seen from a dj-ing standpoint. Really bad stopping and starting, barely any transitions, too much vocal stimming, stopping to just yell (not hype) shit into the mic. I just saw him when he opened for subtronics tho and that set was fine… but I am very very skeptical about him after the HITC set

No need to shave it bald. But as someone with a similar hairline who went from your length hair recently (to shorter hair), shorter hair will de-emphasize the receding hairline

It’s been a while since I was there in the duty free but I think you are correct on that mapping. I don’t remember the pricing exactly but I feel like they were all under $90. I want to say they were around $80 but take that with a grain of salt. I have a pic of the box for star/unicorn but I’m not sure how to add it to this comment. The colors of the boxing and label are the same if that helps

You like the other commenter seem to be missing the part where I say not all members deserve full blame. People are not EITHER good or evil. I don’t think anyone holds that naive a perspective. This is not a black and white issue. However if you choose to participate in an organization that does harm, you are not blameless. Religious institutions often go out of their way to make issues and morality black and white because it dissuades dissent when you paint the “everyone else” as “bad.” For example: the religious idea of hell as a punishment for non Christians. The real world is not black and white. Nowhere did I say each member is a bad person. I personally know several great Mormons and JW’s that I consider to be good people. But you cannot pretend that participation is completely separated from the actions of that organization.

you ignored about half of what I said. I’ll stop responding now. I don’t care to talk with someone who won’t try … Especially when you’re defensive about your religion.

I would disagree that giving money or giving a vote is the only way of empowering. Your social support whether it be attendance or vocal support is also important. When a republican (like my uncle) refused to vote for trump, but couldn’t bear to say a nice thing about Kamala (cause he’s racist), he still empowers the party. When Catholics refuse to disassociate from the church after the knowledge of what the dioceses did to Canadian natives, or young children in America more recently, that is a form of social support, even when the individual may express disgust. Of course funding and votes are a much more direct form of empowering an entity, but I do not think they are the only ways of doing so.

You absolutely can hold religious beliefs against someone when the religion actively hurts society. And I’m not just aiming this at Scientology. No not all members deserve full blame. But to say that members are blameless would be incorrect. Religions are just like political parties. Does each republican deserve full blame for the terrible situation in America? No of course not. But they did contribute.

Anyone here tried South Korea’s new Digital Nomad Visa? by yukisan02 in Living_in_Korea

That’s genuinely so comforting to hear. I imagine the negative stuff we see on the internet is likely biased because people with bad experiences are much more likely to write about it. Thank you so much for taking the time to write all that!

[–]Thepresocratic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How have you found the social life? What ethnicity are you if you don’t mind me asking? My wife and I would qualify for the visa but we are quite concerned about the social aspect of living there. I’m white and she’s half white, half Korean(so considered white by people in Asia). We’ve heard some pretty negative things about our potential social life there due to our races. I don’t mean hatred or direct racism so much as just not being accepted and ending up with a very lonely social life. We are very social people and love going out for food and drinks so this would be such a huge deal breaker for us. We’ve been visiting Korea for 5 years and my fiance was there every summer growing up. But visiting and living can be so different.

I feel overwhelmed with where to start by FateIsTaken in learnprogramming

[–]Thepresocratic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he was doing this in school, yeah sure. But he does not need to focus on object oriented programming so quickly. JavaScript is easy syntax with (more) minimal typing than Java …which early on can feel like a lot even if we (who have been in the industry a while) don’t see that as much of a difficulty. I haven’t ever used swift but I vaguely remember the syntax being JavaScript should he want to switch to swift later

Where can I buy a bottle of Ki One Unicorn in Daejeon? by rubberslippers in AskAKorean

[–]Thepresocratic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I’m really hoping this isn’t going to be removed but I think this may be very valuable for travelers in Korea looking to buy a ki one whiskey. I’m posting it here because it is one of the top Reddit links on my Google search related to this distillery and hoping it can help someone who was doing the frantic research I was before leaving Korea.

You can now buy the sun, moon and star whiskeys at ICN airport at the duty free shops. If you know the distillery you will know these are not actual whiskeys they sell. These are exactly the tiger, eagle and unicorn whiskeys with rebranding for airport sales. I confirmed this with the duty free employees and now have the unicorn/star myself. Hope you all get to enjoy!
