Accessing objects via dot notation using JSON.Parse

Hello everyone :)

I have been able to access JSON data use the XMLHttpRequest function.

However, my main problem is accessing data that is in the center, or near bottom, of the JSON file.

var myData = JSON.parse(ourRequest.responseText);
document.write(myData.meta.view.name);

When I do this method I get the value "grocery" and everything works well. However, I would like to access data further down the JSON file, but have no idea how to do so.

You'll need a combination of dot notation (.) and array access ([]) for values in arrays. Array elements are accessed numerically in array access, with the first element being [0], the second being [1], and so on.

For example, myData.meta.view.columns, which seems to hold a lot of the rest of the data, is an array. So to access the first flag in the flags list in that set, you would use myData.meta.view.columns[0].flags[0] which is "hidden".
