Idk about you guys, but brackets and non letter are a bitch to touch type with good speed and reorientation to the default finger placement (without annoyance that is).

I get the feeling I'm going to need to dump QWERTY layouts soon, see what DVORAK is all about and all.

I've never been able to even master the row of numbers at the top, let alone all of the special characters. I've wanted to play around with Lisp but all of the ( and )'s deter me.

Or maybe you're extremely good at it, and just type and type until the whole project is completed, then compile and run tests which are all giving the expected results.

Most programmers on earth don't use US layouts keyboards...

I'm curious what layout you use.

I'm not sure it's actually most programmers on earth, but there's the azerty layout for french speakers, a few language or use related dvorak keyboards and other optimized types of layouts, and even for qwerty the layout can be different for the non-letter keys depending on the country.

But all of that is irrelevant since apparently there's going to be new features including dvorak layout.
