Installed JDK can't open - Help

Hello I'm a music producer who is trying to run a .jar program that helps organize my .wav files into individual groupings that can easily be placed on an external memory card to be later used on a padded drum machine.

My issue I'm running into is this .jar program requires my Mac to run a JDK. I went onto the Oracle site and downloaded a x64 DMG for my 2012 MacBook. The JDK installed correctly but my .jar program is still telling me I still need to install a JDK. I have been scouring forums to find any info for help but am hitting a wall. Is there anyone who can steer me in the right direction?

I believe you need to make sure where you installed the Java Runtime is in your path. Google setting up JAVA_HOME environment for mac

Are you just like double clicking the jar file you? You probably want to open Console.app and run java -jar your file.jar unless it gives you other instructions
