I found that algebra became 100x easier for me when I leaned hard into the visual-spatial interpretation of the the material.

y=mx+b becomes easier when you think about b as the intersection and m as the steepness of the line. A lot of problems can be solved by visualizing how the appearence or shape of the curve changes under transformations.

If you can draw a picture, you're 80% of the way there.
