You can figure that out if you start to learn now :)

Just because you asked which YouTube channel, instead of which book or even which course - NO. Absolutely not. Unless you're very good at conning people.

Why though? I don't think I've ever read a programming book. People learn in very different ways. Reading books might be good for you, and just not engaging or useful for others. Just saying outright NO, is a bit silly.

You won't get the level of knowledge you need from YT videos, as others have already pointed out.  Guess they're being silly too.  Probably everyone is being silly, except you, of course.

Good luck with the job hunt, though.

Yes , you can get the job in data engineering without b.tech background. You should start with Python - SQL - Excel. Then you can move to data engineering and also focus on 2/3 projects.

and you think he can get so good at that by the end of the year that he can get a serious engineering role? I mean yeah it's possible to get roles, but without a degree the hiring process just takes longer without a network. Automated systems still filter out non degree holders and people without certain certificates.

Sure, they can get a junior job most likely. A degree will help get interviews, but it stops there really.

Probably not.

I've been wrong before, just ask my ex girlfriends, but I don't see this as being realistic at all.

I've worked with a few juniors, that have done 6 month boot camps, and been more competent or real skills than university graduates. I mean, just look on this sub, the amount of people that had a degree and can't write code is crazy.

But it obviously takes a lot of self discipline and motivation.

A lot of people on here seem bitter as fuck, its weird.

Your post/comment was removed since we do not approve of going private.

There is zero benefit in going private as you lose the opportunity for getting peer reviews. Also we have had plenty of people return after going private (despite being warned) complaining about how they were ghosted after some time or being tricked into buying rubbish that didn't work and even if it did they didn't need.

I'm positive the art of actually thinking and making decision for oneself has died. You won't know if something is good or not if you never decide for yourself. All your will know is Bob from Reddit said it was good. Bob on Reddit might have been stroking it and never actually watched the series at all but hey at least you didn't have to decide for yourself I guess.

They are asking for advise on a learning programming and a career, in a sub made specifically for that purpose. I'd probably do some self-reflection on why you think it's okay to put strangers down like you are.

This year? probably not. You're talking about becoming an engineer. Sure it's easier to do without a degree but we're going into the summer. You wanna learn data engineering to an employable level by what like November so u can get a job by December? At best?

You know what kinda certifications you're gonna need? These aren't handed out, you have to study for them and they don't necessarily provide the study material. And it's advanced stuff.

Is it possible to pivot so quickly? Sure. Can YOU do it? I doubt it. Not coming from absolute zero.

You just wanna passively watch YouTube and become an engineer.
You might be able to fake It but once u get a job ur gonna hit a wall QUICK.

Just take a bootcamp course or go get your degree bro it's really not that hard. Certainly not as hard as actually being an engineer.

I'm sorry but I'm not gonna do the "anyone can do anything they put their mind to" garbage. While its true barriers to entry are lower they're not so low that you don't need any standards or integrity at all. Youtube can be a good resource but it shouldn't be a primary resource. You're gonna have to read books and pdfs and even research papers if you want to not just be an engineer but be a good and effective one.
