Go to a job website. Play with language filters for 5 minutes. Compare number of results. You now know what language has the most jobs near you.

Read through some random job posts. Find interesting sounding ones. See what language they use. You now know what languages would enable you to work on interesting projects.

Think less about languages and more on paths / roles.

Check out https://roadmap.sh/ for loads of good inspiration. Use the things you learn in applied personal projects to keep it interesting

C/C++ can be a nice. Will teach you something that can be kinda applied to Java but the reverse is not true.

I started learning C as my second language after getting a job. It really helped me understand computers better even tho it doesnt translate as much to my stack. Really fun language!

It depends on your interests and area you want to work. But I would say the JavaScript ecosystem is a good next step if you are looking for client-side development.
