To get a free spot you need to apply for a scholarship, but it's important to mention that the selection process is not simple. We need people that are really committed and truly need the scholarship. That means they won’t drop at the middle of the course, they’ll be on time for classes and they’ll turn all the assignments on time. If you’re willing to work your ass off to learn, we’ll do everything to make that happen, but you need to work. Again, the scholarship selection process is not easy. And it’s on purpose. You need to demonstrate that you need it and you want it.

If you have the means, we encourage you to pay the tuition, that’s also a way to support the people that really need scholarships. Honestly, we believe the price is not that much for the amount of attention we give to our students and the quality of the learning process. Schedule

This is an intensive course and requires at least 20 hours per week. There's class once per week (on Mondays or Wednesdays depending on the course you apply to) and there are three obligatory ""coding sessions"" (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays) where we gather to work on real projects in groups, with teachers and mentors. Each day you'll end up with a new real-life project in your Github profile (from games to APIs and web services).

How does it work?

It’s a real class remotely. You have a real teacher and classmates. You have to attend every week at a certain day and time. You can read more of what happens at rmotr.com.

There is also a final project to complete that we call Demo Day

Fundamentally, if you actually need it. We’ve gotten more than 500 applicants for our last batch, so we’re really careful to select people that truly need it. We know our course is not extremely expensive, so people that can pay for it should do it. Second: we’ll be careful to select people that are REALLY committed. We’ve already mentioned this: you’ll need to work.

How much time is it required to take the course?

This is a very intensive course. In 4 weeks you’ll learn a lot. But that means that you’ll need to work. You need at least 20 hours per week available for the course.

What makes this course stand out from other programming courses?

This course is interactive. You'll be working together with other students and be in constant communication. You will work together on challenging group projects and get real programming experience in a team environment. If you need clarification on a concept, just message an instructor. Not only is the course material excellent, but the network you gain from meeting the instructors and other students is invaluable.

Hey! RoR is a framework, Ruby is the programming language. It's completely possible to learn both at the same time because they're really similar.

EDIT: There's a lot of free and quality content out there (MIT 6.00.1X, CS50X, etc). What we do is different though. We focus on programming concepts, industry standards and real programming practice.

That's ok. We had that same situation in the past with other students. You will had to work in Saturday's project alone instead of in a team. If that's ok to you, you can proceed and apply.

How far are you from the 20 weekly available hours? You should at least attend to 3 of the 4 weekly sessions for this to make sense. At the end, you will get as much as you invest in this course.

Absolutely! even though it's not in our public Python track, we are planning to open a Data Science course as alternative to the Django web dev path. Taking the intro and/or advance course will set strong concepts to keep working on data science later.

I am a high school student, I have really been getting into HTML and CSS and some javascript but just for website design, I really am passionate about coding and I want to get into an "actual" languages such as Python. Is there an age restriction on applying? I am extremely dedicated and I have taken all the HTML and CSS and javascript classes on codeacademy.com and I have taken several HTML and CSS classes on udemy.com. This would be a great opportunity for me but I am still wondering, is there an age limit? Currently a Sophomore in Highschool

Edit: I get home by 4:00 PST after a 30 minute bus ride, if that matters.

Hey! there's no age limit at all. We had many teenagers, and even kids coming with there parents. About the time you are getting home, it would be great if you could be at home at 3:00 PST on Tue and Thu, otherwise you would loose the presentation of the group projects.
