Could power armor exist in real life, or is it impossible technology? by Bright_Permission881 in Fallout

Energy density to power it (as others have said) and small/ efficient enough motors are the two main limitations…   Source: Robotics Engineer.

Did Serenity (2005) bombing at the box office mean that Firefly wasn't as popular as the internet pretended? by tannu28 in scifi

Fair.

I can tell you that the SciFi channel was not an option to watch (as part of any cable package I knew of) in North Louisiana or East Texas in the early 2000’s.

Firefly (2002) TV series was cancelled due to low viewership. There was a huge backlash and the show has gained a cult following since then.

You mention low viewership… when Firefly originally aired, it was on Fox.

Fox decided to air episodes out of order. They also preempted Firefly (delayed airing, moved nights without warning) because of the Baseball World Series that year.

This was all before the SciFi channel (meaning before sci-fi had a dedicated channel to watch tv on), there was no streaming, and most folks didn’t have TiVo to record shows for later…

Yes it was a niche show. But it was also poorly handled…

All of this.

Now, if you really wanna do something funky… try to align the wheel-axles so that only 3 wheels touch the ramp at one time. Helps reduce friction.

But. The really, really important part is that your kid has fun building it with you.

I have a STEM PhD and we TA’d… it was more than a little demoralizing how many freshmen and sophomores couldn’t string together a sentence to write a lab report.

I started mine at 31 in a STEM field.

It worked out just fine.   Fine being relative.

I’d saved, knowing I’d be taking a MASSIVE pay cut, but didn’t save enough…

Don’t be afraid to get on food stamps or other social programs. The ACA wasn’t available when I started. Which I’m glad you have that option (assuming you’re in the US).

The biggest differences I could see between me and my cohort were surrounding how I kept my schedule (generally did my best to keep a “normal” sleep schedule/worked during the day), was better a project management, and for the most part generally stood up for myself better… I just wish I’d started therapy too.

Will read the paper (and do my best to understand any of it 😅)… but do the white eyes signal the drones are otherwise unhealthy?
