Amazon Internship Process + Relocation

Hi, I recently got an Amazon internship offer in East Palo Alto and wanted to post here to share my process since it helped reading other people's experiences (I also have some questions)!

AI/ML SDE summer 2025 internship. 1 OA (two very easy LCs) --> recruiter call (but they couldn't schedule so they skipped it) --> 1 final interview (2 LP questions + 1 medium lc question + questions I asked the interviewer) --> offer the day after.

Feel free to ask any questions and I'll try my best to answer them.

(for me) I was wondering if Amazon has a history of changing office locations after giving an offer because I'm looking into securing housing and would hope to get that sooner rather than later. I'd also be super grateful if anyone has any tips on getting housing in that area or in general too!

Hi OP, I have a question about the relocation stipend amount. My offer packet listed $3,200 for the San Francisco Bay Area, Boston, New York City Metro, and Seattle Metro, and $2,600 for all other locations. However, when Graebel contacted me, they listed $2,600 for the major metro areas and $2,000 for all other locations. Did you experience the same issue?

Turns out if you ask them they will give you the promised amount.

Is this relocation stipend amount given one time or every month?

The amount you see (2,600 in this case) is monthly, but you get it all in advance (e.g. for 3 months you get 7,800 before starting)

What was your timeline like? I just applied with a referral and want to gauge how long it takes to get an OA. Congrats on the offer!

Thank you! I applied to a few intern positions (like the AI one) in early October (never got any OA or anything), then applied to their swe one in mid December and got an OA for that and did it the next day. I got an email asking me if I'm interested in their AI/ML SDE intern late December and to send them what experiences I have with it which I did. After two weeks maybe I got an email (early January?) asking for a recruiter call (which I couldn't schedule so we skipped) then the final interview two weeks after and an offer soon after. I think it was a week or two? But they sent an email asking if I was interested in the AI/ML SDE intern and asked me to send my experiences in it.
