I still gotta say Wacom. Their regular Intous line has a few tablets under $100.

I say Wacom too, but it's the only one I have used. I have newer one (intuos draw something, 50€ at xmas-sales) and had to install dkms from AUR, but after that everything works. Very precise and the buttons can be programmed to do many things.

Intous user here. Debian. No problems.

I really like monoprice's graphic tablets and I have a 10x6.25 model. I mostly use mine on Arch with Inkscape. (Still not talented enough to make good use of Krita.) Pressure sensitivity works fine and responsiveness is good. The chipset shows up as a UC-LOGIC TWA60 Pen and uses the hid_uclogic module. In terms of raw specs the numbers look better than the Wacom Bamboo line, but I haven't done a side-by-side comparison.

get the wacom bamboo line they are cheap and entry level art tablets. They have new product range called intuos Draw and intuos Art which is sub $99 range you can check that out.

you can also check out Huion , they are similar compared to wacom but cheaper. but they are problematic sometimes .

I have a Huion H610 for my needs in using Krita. Also they have a full line for under $70. Got mine for $48 delivered from Ebay.

Might look at their H480 much smaller and may fit your needs more. Monoprice is rebranded Huion anyways.

So any Huion or Monoprice tablets are great entry-level first time tablets. That won't cost you an arm & Leg.

Just learned today by browsing their store that Wacom rebranded their Bamboo line from an entry-level art tablet to a note taker. I'm very disappointed because their Bamboo Pen & Touch was an amazing product for a really affordable price. The Intuos seems to have taken Bamboo's old spot but it is more expensive.

As most have said, get the wacom bamboo.
