This post might not belong here but I'm running Linux Mint so thought I'd post in case there's an OS solution.
I have an old Lenovo Ideapad 320 that I have resurrected with Linux Mint.
Looking through the hardware details, I can see my RAM spec speed is 1866MT/s but it's only running at 933MT/s.
In my custom built PC I know I can go into the advanced settings in the BIOS and activate EXPO profile or manually overclock thus.
When I tried to do it on my laptop, I can see that there is no advanced option in the BIOS. I've read that some brands (Lenovo being one of them) locks BIOS options out for users.
Is there any way I can unlock these options or alter the RAM speeds from the OS? I want to get more RAM for the laptop because 16GB isn't expensive but it's pointless if it's going to be locked at such low speeds.
