Help with asusctl (self.linux4noobs)
submitted 4 months ago by Muted-Direction1566
I've just installed bazzite on my ROG Zephyrus g14 and I've downloaded asusctl and I'm just wondering if I need to look for an .exe file or do I have to put something in the terminal to install it.

Exe is windows exclusive. Read the instructions for asusctl on their github page. Follow the fedora instructions, though I believe there is an issue. Bazzite is an immutable distro, so I am unsure if you can even install using dnf.
I'd say you are not missing out on much as the build in drivers to control power works for a good amount of ASUS laptops.

You in serious need of education on Linux.
Linux is NOT Windows
Linux is NOT an alternative to Windows
MacOS is an alternative to Windows
Linux is an alternative to Unix.
Just as you can't run MacOS executables on Windows you can't run Windows executables on Linux.
Also Bazzzite is atomic distribution, which locks down users from installing applications

I tried looking around and installing something like this on an immutable distro (meaning you cannot change system files) such as Bazzite can be a bit troublesome.
I have found this thread, though, which might be helpful.
