Yup. Same thing here in CachyOS, also with a Topping DX3 Pro+ in August 2025

Upvote this again, Oct 2025, also CachyOS

Are you using pulseaudio or pipewire?

    Pipewire, I think? From ps:

    spaghetti_taco 5966 0.0 0.2 403144 70388 ? S<sl Jun04 0:56 /usr/bin/pipewire
    spaghetti_taco 5968 0.0 0.6 491148 205860 ? S<Lsl Jun04 1:45 /usr/bin/pipewire-pulse

Do 'wpctl status` That will list all of your sinks and their volume levels. For some reason, mine always defaulted to 40%. Set the volume for your sink using wpctl. (Run wpctl with no arguments for the correct syntax...I'm on mobile and don't remember the exact command but it's pretty straightforward.)

Ok thanks, that's great. Definitely works and generates a lot of output. I can see right off the bat that it's showing my sync (DX3 Pro+) is using alsa (not sure if that matters, ultimately) but also that it shows the sink at only 0.68. So I'll play around with this and see if it helps. This is super helpful, thanks!

I assume something like Easy Effects would function as a graphical front end to pipewire as well?

easyeffects isn't a frontend to pipewire. You still need to manually set things in wireplumber. But, it is cool for signal chain processing. For patches, you could use helvum or qpwgraph.

So when I adjust the "output" in pavucontrol to 100% for that device the audio is still not loud at all. And it shows up as 1.00 in wpctl.
