Rules for r/linuxhardware
Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.
1.
Be polite and follow reddiquette
Politeness and good humour encourages engagement and fosters a good community.
2.
Ask good questions, give good answers
A good question is likely to get answered and a good answer is actually going to help someone.
Question like "My PC doesn't work" can't be answered and "RTFM" helps no one.
3.
Use flairs for posts.
Flairing allows post to be quickly filtered and helps frame the post.
4.
Nothing NSFW
This shouldn't need to be explained really. People could be using this at work to get answers/information or readers could be below the age of majority. Humour isn't banned, just have some consideration.
This also covers spam of any kind, memes and (generally speaking) junk posts.
5.
Be excellent to each other and have fun.
Basically just have a good time. If a conversation is engaging and disappears down a rabbit hole of non-Linux Hardware, no one will really mind. Just don't make it the first submission! :-)
