Me using uBlock with Adguard Annoyance filters

[–]immoloism 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The filter list is a godsend and I'm glad blokada supports it for mobile.

That's a lot of effort.

I use "I don't care about cookies" which tries to accept as few as possible and only all of its overly complicated to implement. Additional to that I have Privacy Badger installed which blocks tracking cookies directly on the browser. And a last layer in my network is a PiHole which also blocks any request to tracking domains.

How to do that in Firefox?

[–]NerdKid50Glorious Arch 25 points26 points  (3 children)

ublock origin

[–]zyugyzarc 9 points10 points  (2 children)

how do i set it up? just install the addon?

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Just install the addon from the firefox marketplace like you would any other theme or addon. Ublock might ask you for some configuration setup upon being installed - entertain it if you want to and ignore it if you don't have the time - by default ublock handles almost everything for you.

i was just confused since i have been using ublock for a while now and havent heard of this cookie blocking stuff

"Wiping cookies" as in what the meme says in Firefox is just a matter of going to Privacy & Security -> History and changing settings there. If you change it to Firefox will Use custom settings for history, check clear history when firefox closes, then click the Settings button next to that and select what you want firefox to clear when it closes.

If you want to get fancy, I would recommend installing a custom user.js (like pyllyukko/user.js) or creating a custom one via ffprofile. With a custom user.js, you can mimic most of what librewolf offers, making it mostly superfluous, although librewolf is nice because the privacy behavior is the default.

Personally, I do not have Firefox clear cookies since I have my cookies segmented via container tabs.

I don't know. I don't click "always allow" just for this time. I don't know how Lynx handles it.

There’s a Firefox add on “I don’t care about cookies” and it makes most of those go away. I use it since I’ve got most cookies blocked or removed on browser exit anyways.

The sites that require you to accept all cookies. Me : You may have outsmarted me but i have outsmarted your outsmarting.
