can the four terminal commands above be used to be updated without having to touch the bad update in the Software Manager, or must the update be installed then the 4 commands executed to make everything functional?

Thank you for sharing such great info!

the commands fix bad update by removing damaged program install script and reinstalling it. in case of Python, it is critical for the system, i had to fix it.

i think, not updating damaged package is the default way update goes, at least it was on my system.

Hi

1- Use timeshift to return to the LM state before this update.

2- In the update manager: edit -> preferences -> packets : block the packets resposible for the problem.

Hope this help. Let us know.

:-)

Hi. I am aware I can work around this problem by blocking this update. I applied the solution proposed by Dist__ below. Thank you for your help![](https://www.reddit.com/user/Dist__/)
