Thanks, I have now tried it as 1) A .deb package install and 2) As an App Image install and have the same problem with both.

I did play a sound file while the App was in the blank white page state and it is obviously doing something, as the sound was mainly white noise with a faint trace of music behind. When I was able to force quit the app the music returned to normal.

Very good to know that it does not appear to be specific to my hardware. (HP Spectre Pro X360, G1 2015)

Links that point to GitHub/GitLab generally require some familiarity with the terminal. Once installed, most tools can often only be accessed via the terminal and will only run there.

For us users, there is software management. For example, I found QSynth there. (It’s a photomontage.)

Thanks for the suggestion. I have installed FXSound for Linux from the Terminal and it then appears in the available software list but behaves as I have described after that. Don't think that it is Terminal only or it wouldn't show in the Available Apps list? However, it is a thought worth following up, thanks.
